Claire Gaudiani, Expert on the History and Economics of American Philanthropy to Address Local Nonprofits

Topic: “How You Can Effectively Make ‘the Ask’ to Help Support Your Charitable Cause in an Uncertain Economy”

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY- Claire Gaudiani, a nationally recognized author and expert on the history and economics of American philanthropy will address local nonprofits and board members on the topic: “How You Can Effectively Make the Ask to Help Support Your Charitable Cause in an Uncertain Economy.”  This informative seminar will be held on Wednesday, November 19 from 9:30am to 11:30am at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel.

Claire Gaudiani is known for speaking about the synergy of capitalism and philanthropy, encouraging fundraisers, financial advisors, corporate leaders, and politicians to harness our tradition of moral entrepreneurship to solve today’s continuing problems of poverty and inequality.

A clinical professor at New York University, where she directs the graduate program in philanthropic studies, Claire recently wrote “The Greater Good” (Henry Holt/New York Times Books) a widely-cited book that argues Americans are not generous because we are rich, but rich because we are generous.  She is also the author of “Generosity Rules!”, a handbook for personal generosity, and five additional books on scholarly and management topics.

Cost is $5 to fund holders or members of our presenting partners or their respective boards $10 all others – parking is included.
